Steve Bennett uses Sterling Silver or Gold-Filled wire to build jewelry around gemstones and fossils. Gold-Filled is a process distinctly different from gold plating, and significantly more durable. The gold-filled process welds a layer of 14k gold to a base metal substrate (usually brass).
